Somatic Therapy in Worcester, MA.
virtual and online somatic therapy in worcester, Massachusetts
Stress is a common part of life, but when it causes physical symptoms that disrupt your daily routine, how can you cope?
If you’re a high-functioning adult in Worcester, MA who looks capable on the outside but feels exhausted, anxious, or stuck inside your own head, you’re not alone. Many of the people I work with are successful, driven, and deeply burned out from years of pushing through stress. Somatic therapy offers a way to slow things down, reconnect with your body, and create real relief, not just more coping strategies.
I offer in-person somatic therapy in Worcester, MA, and work with adults navigating anxiety, burnout, perfectionism, and self-worth concerns.
Somatic therapy is a body-based approach to mental health that helps you understand and regulate your nervous system, not just your thoughts. When you’ve spent years operating in high gear, your body often stays stuck in survival mode, even when nothing is “wrong.”
Rather than talking your way through stress alone, somatic therapy helps you notice how anxiety, pressure, and self-criticism show up physically. By working with the body alongside the mind, we can build a greater sense of safety, steadiness, and resilience over time.
What is Somatic Therapy?
I specialize in working with high-achieving adults who are outwardly successful but internally overwhelmed. Many of my clients struggle with anxiety, burnout, perfectionism, and self-worth concerns, often tied to years of productivity pressure and people-pleasing.
If you’re tired of powering through and want support that actually meets you where you are, this work may be a good fit.
Hi there, I’m Maya (Gengarelli) Ribot, LICSW.
In our work together, sessions move at a pace that feels safe and collaborative. I blend somatic therapy with Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), which means we pay attention to both what your body is communicating and the thought patterns that keep you stuck.
We may work with grounding exercises, body awareness, nervous system regulation, and gentle cognitive shifts, always with the goal of helping you feel more present, less reactive, and more at ease in your day-to-day life. There’s no pressure to perform, fix yourself, or “do therapy right.”
I offer in-person somatic therapy in Worcester / Millbury, MA, as well as virtual therapy for residents of Connecticut and Florida. Sessions are typically held weekly or bi-weekly, depending on your needs.
I also offer a free 15-minute consultation so we can talk briefly, answer questions, and see if working together feels like a fit.
Anxiety that feels constant or hard to shut off
Burnout from overworking or over-functioning
Perfectionism and harsh self-criticism
Difficulty resting or relaxing without guilt
Feeling disconnected from their body or emotions
Stress responses that don’t make logical sense anymore
If you’ve tried traditional talk therapy, mindset work, or productivity tools and still feel stuck, somatic therapy can offer a different path forward.
Clients often come to somatic therapy because they’re experiencing things like:
