Holding it all together comes at a cost.

If you’re the person others rely on, the one who thinks ahead, stays capable, and rarely drops the ball, you’re probably also the one who doesn’t know how to fully rest.

You might look calm and competent on the outside, but inside your mind keeps running. You replay conversations, second-guess decisions, and feel pressure to keep proving that you’re doing enough, being enough.

If that sounds familiar, you’re not broken and you’re not alone.
You’re in the right place.

A woman with dark curly hair and a smile, sitting on a gray couch with a brick wall behind her. She is wearing a blue patterned blouse, a necklace, and a smartwatch.

I’m Maya (Gengarelli) Ribot, a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, and I specialize in working with high-functioning adults who struggle with anxiety, perfectionism, and self-worth, especially those who are exhausted by always having to be “on.”

My work blends somatic therapy and cognitive behavioral tools to help people who understand their patterns but still feel stuck inside them.

This isn’t therapy that asks you to slow down before your system knows how.
It’s therapy that helps your nervous system catch up to the life you’re already living.

What It’s Like to Work Together

Therapy with me isn’t about fixing you. It’s about helping you relate to yourself differently.

Our work is collaborative and paced to meet you where you are. You don’t need to arrive with everything figured out just a willingness to get curious about the patterns that keep you feeling stuck, anxious, or depleted.

You can expect:

  • A balance of depth and practicality.
We’ll connect the dots between your thoughts, nervous system responses, and behaviors and then translate that insight into real, usable tools you can apply outside of session.

  • A space that honors both your ambition and your humanity.
We’ll look at the strategies you’ve relied on to function and succeed, while also helping your nervous system feel safe enough to shift out of constant pressure, self-criticism, or overdrive.

  • A process focused on integration, not endless self-improvement.
Our work isn’t about doing more or trying harder. It’s about building self-trust, learning how to regulate stress more effectively, and creating change that actually feels sustainable.

Clients often tell me therapy feels like exhaling after years of holding their breath.

 My Story

Early in my career, I did everything “right”…on paper. But behind the scenes, I was burning out.

Working across outpatient centers, schools, and community-based programs gave me a deep understanding of stress, anxiety, and trauma. But I didn’t fully understand my own nervous system until I hit a wall myself. Anxiety, exhaustion, and the constant drive to do more eventually caught up to me.

That’s when I discovered somatic work, and everything shifted.

Learning to connect with my body helped me move from survival mode into something more sustainable. I began to understand how my own patterns of over-functioning were rooted in past experiences and nervous system wiring.

Now, in private practice, I help high-functioning adults do the same: slow down, regulate, and build a life that actually feels good. I’ve created a business and lifestyle rooted in nervous system health, and it allows me to show up with integrity for my clients, my family, and myself.

Outside of work, you’ll find me walking in nature, moving my body, knitting something cozy, catching up on my favorite shows, or spending time with the people who ground me.
